* Basic benefits including

4. Skilled nursing facility care.
5. Medicare Part A deductible for hospitalization.

As of  June 1, 2010, Medicare Supplement Plan N is now available to consumers.
The new plan is designed to lower out-of-pocket costs for consumers
and to provide them with additional benefits not found in their current plans.

Plan N is similar to both Plan D and Plan F. However, instead of not covering part or all of the Part A and B deductibles, this plan utilizes a cost sharing system to keep the premiums low.

In exchange for premiums that are estimated to be about 30% lower, a new co-pay structure was created.
Co-payments for doctor appointments are $20 and co-payment for emergency room trips are $50.
If you are then admitted to the hospital, this emergency room co-pay is waived.

Medicare Supplement Plan N has 100 percent coverage for the
Part A deductible and also NO coverage for the Part B deducible ($155, 2010).

Supplement Plan N, DOES cover the basic Core Benefits,
1. Complete coverage for Part A inpatient hospital insurance charges,
2. Total expense for inpatient hospital care after the Medicare Benefit runs out, blood services (initial 3 pints),
3. Coinsurance expenses for Part B, Part A hospice palliative medication coinsurance,
4. Emergency benefits for traveling abroad.

ALL of the 2010 Supplement Plans will include hospice care.
Overall the premium cost of these plans is approximately 70% of the cost of Plan F, or
about 77% of the cost of Plan D.

Plan N may be a better plan for your budget than the Medicare Part C Advantage plans.
Plan N may be a good option for you because it offers
very low out-of-pocket responsibilities and no network restrictions.

In Florida and Georgia there is  limited underwriting for this plan.
