How Florida Protects Your Premiums

In many states, Medigap premiums use "Attained-Age" rating, where rates increase annually as you age. Florida is different. Most plans here use **Issue-Age rating**, meaning your rate is locked in based on your age at purchase.

  • No automatic "birthday" price hikes

  • Rate based on your age at entry

  • More predictable long-term costs

  • Budget stability for senior

Understanding Part B Excess Charges

According to Medicare.gov, if a provider doesn't accept "assignment," they can charge you up to 15% more than the Medicare-approved amount.

Technical Note:This 15% difference is an "excess charge." Plan G covers this 100%; Plan N does not.
